Some of the world’s leading plastic surgeons from the Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern will host a free seminar in Dallas devoted to educating consumers about safe, appropriate ways to enhance one’s appearance. Get the facts about non-invasive procedures, such as fillers and laser rejuvenation, as well as cosmetic surgery and body contouring.
Facts vs Fiction
“When it comes to cosmetic procedures, you can’t always believe everything you see, so we hope this event can help those serious about improving their appearance sort through the options with the facts,” says Dr. Rohrich, professor and chairman of plastic surgery at UT Southwestern.
UT Southwestern’s plastic surgeons routinely participate in the clinical trials and studies required by the government before new products can be approved. They are often the first to develop new procedures and are responsible for training many other area physicians in the latest technologies. They are familiar with not just the hype, but the critical research and findings behind many cosmetic medical claims.
What You’ll Find Out
The free seminar is designed to help answer questions such as:
- Is cosmetic surgery a good option for your goals?
- What non-invasive procedures are available?
- When should I consider surgical options?
- What should I look for in selecting a plastic surgeon?
- What’s worth the money and what’s not?
- How do I determine what procedures and products are safe?
Information will be provided on non-invasive procedures such as Botox and injectable fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, laser treatments for varicose veins, and hand rejuvenation techniques. Cosmetic surgery topics will include body contouring options, mommy makeovers and tummy tucks, liposuction, facelift surgery and facial aging, breast surgeries for reconstruction, shaping or augmentation, and surgeries to correct the nose, eyelid and brow.
